Marija Perović

Director of two feature films, freelance film and TV director and playwright, creative director of the International TV Festival Bar in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014. Associate professor on the film and TV direction courses (FTV direction department) and screenplay (production department) at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts – Cetinje, Montenegro. She’s a columnist for the daily newspapers Pobjeda; one of the co-founders of the production company Katun Movies; member of the board for film art at the Montenegrin Academy of Science and Arts; alumni of the JFDP program, USA, summer semester at the Austin University, Texas, 2010; member of the international association of the film critics FIPRESSCI; president of the Montenegrin Filmmakers Association (2002-2008).  Author of the book Discussions about Film (Razgovori o filmu), editions: Kosmos, Belgrade, and Nova knjiga, Podgorica.

Education: Faculty of Dramatic Arts Belgrade, enrolled at Ph.D. doctoral art studies; graduated film and TV director; Faculty of Philosophy Belgrade, department – art history, sophomore. Grammar school – field of natural sciences and mathematics, Nikšić.

• Award for screenplay at the Montenegrin Ministry of Culture production competition, 2006;

 One of the directors of the first Croatian soap opera Vila Maria, AVA-Zagreb production, Croatia.

Director and screenplay assistant on more than 350 TV productions of various genres from educational to entertainment and drama (RTS Belgrade, TVCG Podgorica, TV In Podgorica, TV Avala, Belgrade, TV-FOX, Belgrade). Director of more than 40 music videos. Director of numerous industrial, commercial and promotional films (production: Balkan Podgorica, MAPA Podgorica, British Council Podgorica, Atlas Television Podgorica, NGO Montenegro Mobil Art).

One of the directors for five campaigns for the national and general elections and for the national TV.
